About
Graham “Bushy” Muir
A career sports coach, Muir Developed and crafted Manic Training over many years. Manic envelops training aspects of high intensity methods with the functional movements of today’s athletes. Burnt out with the corporate gym culture, and out of the monotony of the typical training programs being produced, Muir started to develop Manic Training.
He met Rob Shaul, the owner of Mountain Athlete Strength and Conditioning, and the two found out they shared many of the same philosophies. Muir participated in Mountain Athlete seminars, which helped spur on the creation of the Manic program.
Manic Training is really one of a kind. With Muir’s experience classes always remain fresh and it’s not uncommon to see an Olympic caliber athlete working out next to an everyday Steamboat local.
As Muir says Manic is, “no frills, no egos and no mirrors.” It’s how I like to train.
Manic is uncomplicated, but proven training regimes.
It’s a functional, three dimensional training environment.
It’s old school strong man meets new aged training philosophies.
It’s Manic Training.
Ryan Lee
A natural athlete, Ryan Lee has been working out in various health clubs and home gyms when he was 15. Whether it was training for a specific sport or just staying fit, Ryan put a premium on fitness. He started training with Muir in his garage more than two years ago. Always used to training by himself or with another, the group setting of Manic Training pushed Ryan to new heights. “You push each other and everyone is in the trenches together,” Ryan says. “Working out next to a world class athlete, a housewife, or a high school student, we’re all the same in Manic. I like how everyone leaves their ego at the door and focuses on the workout — unlike most gyms I’ve been to. I’ll never workout alone again.”
Already in great shape before Manic, Ryan started to get in the best shape of his life. But it wasn’t just physical, there was a new mental toughness Ryan developed. With Manic, it’s the longest Ryan has every trained consecutively for one period. Manic keeps Ryan motivated and never bored — something not seen in a lot of programs.
“The Manic program that Graham designed keeps me motivated since the workouts are always different,” Ryan says. “And I don’t plan on stopping!”
